Vitamin C is becoming a trend to skincare nowadays for its natural components that brings brightness and remedy to skin damage. It is known for having an antioxidant properties that corresponds a huge role in the collagen synthesis of our skin. So it is very helpful for those who are drastically damaged by the UV rays and pollutants such as smoke and dirt we get from everyday lifestyle. (Stay tuned, I’ll be making a more depth study of Vitamin C’s role to our skin).
Today I’m gonna give you an honest insight on a product well loved in the world of Korean Skincare Industry. Although there is a very limited research on how vitamin C could benefit our skin, more and more companies are trying to innovate by combining it with other skin-loving ingredients such as centella and collagen. Likewise, Klairs, a known brand in Korea especially sold and advertised by Wishtrend is becoming one of the top names when it comes to vitamin oil/serum.
“A multi-solution serum that helps rough cells and widened pores, dull and pigmented tone.”

+ Is a multi-solution for skin concerns
HOW TO USE:
For Normal / Combination to Oily Skin
After cleansing, apply an amount of about half the dropper to the entire face area. Gently massage into the entire face using the palms and body heat to work into the skin.
For Sensitive Skin
After cleansing, prep the skin with toner and apply about 3-4 droplets of the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop evenly onto the skin. For extra sensitive skin, try mixing a few drops into preferred serum or lotion until the skin is used to the product.
It comes in a clear glass bottle with a metal cap and glass dropper. The label is simple and clean with a holographic twist on it. For what I know it has a holographic box with it but when I bought it from Althea there isn’t so I couldn’t tell how it actually looks in person.
So here’s my issue with Klairs Vit Juice Drop’s packaging, I’m just confused why it’s packaged in a clear bottle. It is mainly consisted of Vitamin C which is very sensitive to light, heat and oxygen exposure. Mostly Vitamin C serums comes in a dark glass bottle for it to not oxidize. Klairs claimed that their formula is stabilized that’s why its clear but I don’t think they made a good choice on choosing a clear one (I’ll explain later). On the good side, at least you could see the product.
I bought it from Althea Korea with a retail price of 1,010 PHP. Most of the online shops sell it for 1,100-1,200 PHP but if you want to try it first, there are some who sell it by specified mL (repacked/takal) but if you’re gonna sum it up it costs much more than you but the whole thing.
I have nothing bad to say about the scent. I barely smell anything but from my experience, once it turned yellowish/brownish, it will smell like tarnished metal.
It is light-weight and slightly oily but not too oily to the point that it’s uncomfortable to the skin. Klairs’ claims that their formula is stabilized unlike other Vitamin C serums and that brownish serums means that Vitamin C was not fully present anymore.
It contains vitamin C and centella which is good for dull and acne prone skin. So in short, this is recommended if you have blemishes and dark spots on your skin. It could clear your complexion very well like what it did to my skin. I believe that it contributed a lot on clearing my skin as well as brightening. Before I used to have a bumpy skin. Like small pimples but aren’t red but it has a whitish dirt inside. But since I used this, my skin never went back to that phase and if ever I’ll have an acne, it won’t continue or it will go away a day or two.
I don’t know how to start this but this made me really frustrated. I love the product so much that it became my holy grail but it was too disappointing when we talk about it’s shelf life. I got mine this January 2017 but it turned yellowish March of this same year. 2 Months and I’m just halfway through! I really don’t understand because I always keep it in room temperature and close it right away. It changed it smell as well as what I mentioned earlier and I can’t take the risk to use it as others told that they just dumped it after turning into this state.
I have a love-hate relationship with this product. It really made wonders on my skin but I was rethinking if I should get the whole bottle or just buy the trial version. If you’re going to think about it, it won’t cost more coz like what happened to me, I wasted half the price. I still have the half yellow serum left. Until now I still feel bad.
So we’re going back to the packaging decision if the company made the right choice with the clear bottle. Maybe the product reacted to the light and it should have been packaged in the dark bottle. Or should they put in the instruction to keep it in the refrigerator? I watched so many reviews like Joan Kim’s or Edward Avila’s but they said it’s not high maintenance like the other Vitamin C serums that you need to put inside a refrigerator so until now I still have this question lying on my mind.
So what do you think? Let me know about your experience and what you did.
Is it worth repurchasing? Or should I try an alternative to this product?
